We are excited to announce the formation of The STARR Coalition, a nonprofit organization bringing together stakeholders in the areas of treatment, advocacy, consumers and patients, research and recovery. The purpose of the alliance is to increase communication, partnerships and goodwill among all groups to benefit individuals who are working to manage the symptoms of their illness.
There is a gap in the system of care. People who have chosen in research clinical trials have not had the advocacy they deserve. Clinical trials are being done on a daily basis across the country. This workgroup will collaborate to create a vital role in shaping the options of consumers when they choose to participate in a clinic trail. All individuals should be educated on progressive, innovative treatment options.
The foundation of any successful treatment begins with the individual served. From there we can expand the circles of support to include all parties involved in the recovery process. We need the voice of all parties involved in treatment to work together as one to find ways to improve our shared mission.
