CenExel Sherman Oaks, is a clinical research center located in Sherman Oaks, California, that has been serving the community for over 20 years. The center specializes in neuroscience clinical trials, conducting studies focused on improving treatments for mental health conditions including schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and other areas of brain health.

At CenExel Sherman Oaks, board-certified physicians, including specialists in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry, work alongside expertly trained research staff to ensure participants receive compassionate, high-quality care throughout the research process. The site’s dedicated 3,000 sq. ft. research facility is designed with participant safety and comfort in mind. CenExel Sherman Oaks serves a diverse community across the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles area, and is committed to helping individuals learn about and access new treatment options through clinical research. Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) changes lives, saves lives and impacts lives, through education, peer support groups and advocacy for those diagnosed with a mental health illnesses and empowers their family and friends to embrace their independence, advocate for improved services, and to love them for who they are.

What makes us unique is the fact that we are peer based and lead. What this means is that all of our meetings and all of our leaders are members or caring friends and family of members.

DBSA California is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people with mood disorders to find community, wellness, and hope while navigating the challenges of mental health conditions. DBSA California offers free, peer-led support groups facilitated by trained Peer Facilitators with lived experience, providing a safe and confidential space for individuals to share their stories, reduce isolation, and build pathways toward recovery. The organization also provides education, advocacy, and community events for individuals living with depression, bipolar disorder, and related mental health challenges. MHA is a powerful voice for healthy communities throughout the nation and offers information, referrals, and resources for individuals living with any type of mental illness. One of MHA’s services includes online screening, which is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety, are real, common and treatable. And recovery is possible.

 San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center (SFVCMHC) has been moving lives forward for over 55 years through compassionate, trauma-informed behavioral health services that empower individuals, strengthen families, and transform communities across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles County. The Center provides a wide range of services for children, adolescents, transition age youth, adults, and older adults — including those facing serious emotional disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, domestic violence, and substance use challenges. All services are delivered with dignity and grounded in whole-person care, with fees based on ability to pay.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Greater Los Angeles & Central Coast Chapter serves the communities of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties with a mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. The chapter’s grassroots work focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide by delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public about risk factors and warning signs, raising funds for suicide research, and providing outreach and support to individuals who have lost someone to suicide.
