The Open Door Clubhouse, operated by COMHAR in Philadelphia, is a supportive, recovery-oriented program for adults living with mental illness focused on building independence, skills, and community engagement through meaningful work and peer connection. Members participate in a structured “Work Ordered Day,” receive help with job readiness (like resume writing and interview techniques), access educational and vocational resources, and can take part in paid transitional and supported employment opportunities. The Clubhouse also fosters social connection with evening, weekend, and holiday activities, encouraging personal growth across living, learning, working, socializing, and wellness domains.

MHA is a powerful voice for healthy communities throughout the nation and offers information, referrals, and resources for individuals living with any type of mental illness. One of MHA’s services includes online screening, which is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety, are real, common and treatable. And recovery is possible.

MHA-NJ serves adults and transition age youth who are dealing with mental health needs and do not have financial resources, including Veterans and people who are homeless.

Beacon of Hope provides the following:

Food Pantry: Providing perishable/non-perishable food items such as meats, fruits/vegetables (fresh, frozen, canned), grains (dried, canned), bread, pastries, baby food/formula, and dairy. Food is distributed every Friday from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.

Children’s Summer Feeding Program: Providing sack lunches to needy children during the summer months, when many of their daily meals include school lunch programs.

Clothes Closet: Distribute new and gently used clothing to those in need. Clothes are distributed every Friday from 9:00 am-2:00 pm.

Salvation Army Service Unit: Providing assistance for emergency motel placement, utilities, rental, medical, backpacks for back to school, and Christmas toys.

Code Blue Warming Assistance: Providing assistance to our homeless individuals with meals, emergency motel placements, hygiene kits, and seasonal clothing. If you are seeking shelter when a code blue is declared, please contact 211 for shelter locations.

The OTC provides job training and job placement services, day programs, and residential services to adults with disabilities.

Employment Services: Actively support and empower adults with disabilities in shaping their future through various job opportunities. In the intake process, individuals collaborate with the Vocational Evaluator, engaging in a person-centered decision-making process to identify the most fitting Vocational Service for their needs.

Day Services: Our Community Access Centers (CACs) offer day habilitation, community integration, and prevocational training. The goal of each service is to foster life skills and independence by accomplishing personal goals. Each CAC delivers a supportive and structured learning environment, crafting an individualized plan for each participant. Additionally, the OTC provides a specialized service for adults with complex medical and behavioral needs.

Residential Homes: Our residential services foster a superior quality of life within a compassionate environment that prioritizes personal growth and independence. Group homes are staffed around the clock, seven days a week, ensuring a safe and enriched lifestyle for our residents.
