May 14, 2026
Awareness is a starting point. Action is the goal.
Each year on the second Thursday of May, Mental Health Action Day calls individuals, organizations, and communities to move beyond awareness and take a concrete step, however small, toward better mental health for all.
For the mental health clinical research community, action looks like education, outreach, and showing up in your community in ways that build trust and reduce stigma. It looks like research sites opening their doors, staff participating in local events, and organizations rallying around a shared mission.
This May 14, The STARR Coalition is proud to announce the 2026 Stop the Stigma Champion – a high school student who has demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership by openly discussing mental health, challenging stereotypes, and fostering a supportive environment in their school community. Stay tuned for the announcement.
