NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Your local NAMI Affiliates and volunteer leaders work in communities across the country to raise awareness and provide essential and free education, advocacy, and support group programs.

At NAMI Farmington Valley-CT, our mission is to: SUPPORT people with mental illnesses including children, and their friends and families; EDUCATE and inform people with mental illnesses and their families about services and treatment available in the community; ELIMINATE STIGMA by developing public understanding of the challenges of living with a serious mental illness; ADVOCATE for better services and treatments, protection of rights and research. To accomplish these goals we provide support groups, educational presentations, and classes that are free of charge and open to the public.

MHA is a powerful voice for healthy communities throughout the nation and offers information, referrals, and resources for individuals living with any type of mental illness. One of MHA’s services includes online screening, which is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Mental health conditions, such as depression or anxiety, are real, common and treatable. And recovery is possible.

Established in 1908, Mental Health Connecticut (MHC) is a statewide, nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve mental health for all Connecticut residents. For more than 100 years, MHC has worked to improve mental health services, promote recovery for people with mental health conditions, educate the community about the importance of mental wellness, and combat discrimination resulting from a mental health diagnosis. Through advocacy, education, and service, MHC empowers people to promote mental wellness, instigate meaningful systems change, and engage in mental health recovery.
